True/Buffered Bypass Strymon UltraViolet lets you choose between electromechanical relay-switched true bypass for a 100% untouched and unprocessed signal when the pedal is not engaged (which is the default), or our premium buffered bypass, which preserves your signal’s integrity by preventing the high frequency roll-off that can happen due to longer cable runs. Stereo Even though it might look like it’s a standard mono effect, there’s no need to make compromises when it comes to signal routing or pedal placement with Strymon UltraViolet. Equipped with a single TRS input and TRS output jack in a dual mono configuration, the pedal keeps to a compact form factor while still giving you the option to use it in stereo. A dedicated rear panel Input switch allows you to determine the audio routing, selecting between Mono In → Mono Out, Mono In → Stereo Out, or Stereo In → Stereo Out (stereo in and out requires a TRS cable for each jack). ARM Processor An evolution in technology led by mobile phones and laptop computers now allows our pedals to perform more simultaneous processes than ever before, and with significantly less power draw. That means more processing power for every sonic nuance, and less power consumption on your pedal board. MODE The 3-way toggle switch selects the mix configuration of the dry and wet signals: chorus: (left position) combines a 50/50 mix of dry and wet to achieve maximum depth and the classic vibe effect blend: (middle position) combines a 70/30 mix of dry and wet to reduce the depth for a milder effect vibrato: (right position) only the wet signal for a classic, frequency-dependent, phase-vibrato effect SPEED Controls the rate of the LFO sweep. INTENSITY Adjusts the LFO sweep amplitude. At minimum, the LFO amplitude is zero, resulting in a static effect determined by the BIAS setting. BIAS Sets the center point of the LFO for a range of vibe experiences: low: centered around lower frequencies for a pulsing vibe mid: optimized for a balanced vibe effect high: centered around higher frequencies for a wide ranging vibe effect VOLUME Adjusts the pedal’s output level, up to a 4dB boost at maximum. I/O MODE SELECTOR Selects between mono and stereo routing. mono: (left position) use with a mono input signal, such as a guitar.Output is mono. Defaults to True Bypass. mono → stereo: (middle position) use with a mono input signal. Output is stereo. Bypass mode is Buffered Bypass. stereo: (right position) use with a stereo input signal. Output is stereo. Bypass mode is Buffered Bypass. Note: Stereo operation requires a TRS adapter or cable. IN High impedance, ultra low-noise, discrete Class A JFET preamp input. TRS adapter cable required for stereo input signal. OUTPUT Low impedance stereo TRS output. Use TS for mono output or TRS for stereo output. EXP / MIDI Multifunction communication jack for external control of Strymon UltraViolet’s features and functions. Use a standard TRS expression pedal for continuous control over the knobs of the pedal (default setting). Can be set to operate in one of five modes: Expression Pedal, Favorite, Tap, or MIDI Mode.
