Full Power/Half Power: The Kahuna's gain control behaves differently depending on whether you're in half-power or full-power mode. Full-power mode offers maximum headroom and output, giving the gain control a wider range and allowing for everything from subtle boosts to powerful, tube amp-like distortion. In half-power mode, the overall output and headroom are reduced, leading to increased compression. This means the gain control will produce a smoother, more compressed overdrive at lower settings. Cranking the gain in half-power mode will result in a highly saturated and compressed tone due to the lower headroom.
